TED x SoMa @ SFMOMA

For TED x SoMa's series on transformation, I designed a stage environment drawing from my Osiris series — large-scale photographs of porcelain death/life masks, shattered and repaired with gold lacquer using the Japanese kintsugi technique. Hung in a constellatory arrangement, the installation became a visual testament to the power of change.

Catherine Wagner is a prolific international artist known for architecturally integrated public artworks. For several years we helped manage the creation of these projects — from materials testing and vendor sourcing to budget management, government contracting, and implementation. From laser-perforated metal panels to granite and glass etching to interactive LED installations, we understand what it takes to create artwork at the largest scale.

Quirk Hotel

The Alchemist’s Garden is a set of gold leafed, hand poured lead flowers. Each is unique and came together across Quirk Hotel and Gallery’s 20-foot wall like petals blowing in the wind. A two-story window illuminated the flowers and cast delicate shadows.

ICA VCU

For Avant-Garden, the Institute for Contemporary Art’s inaugural gala, we created several large scale artworks that were projected and printed on vinyl. These works were created from original film photographs and run through analog printing techniques to break the image apart, then digitized. The result was a pointilist explosion of color and form to welcome spring and over 500 guests to the Institute.

XNW Atelier

Brand Update + Client Thank You Box

The shift from XNW Digital to XNW Atelier may seem small at first — the simple changing of one word — but Atelier now signaled to clients that this was becoming a workshop for the bold, not just a digital marketing platform.

To send this announcement to their clients, we hand crafted every detail of their holiday “thank you” boxes. A hand sewn Japanese furoshiki wrapping cloth. Hand milled, black on black stained tiger maple box, a slight lip to signal the opening. XNW Atelier branded chocolates. A ribbon pull to lift them out.

The goal was simple: send clients a thank you gift. The execution created something to remember for years to come.

Leigh Suggs

Leigh was tasked with translating an original artwork made of hundreds of security envelopes to a 20 × 6’ mural for a bank. Working with the artist from a documentation image and architectural renderings, we created a to-scale vinyl print pulling from her original piece. This monumental image was something familiar but altogether new, folding together artistic intent with the bank’s identity.

1708 Gallery

For Cabin Fever 2026, 1708’s annual auction, we created a set of modular artworks to be used for printed materials and social media. As this event acts as a coming together for the community after a long winter, we designed light and floral motifs to complement announcements for artist works, paying homage to Saul Bass’ landmark film credits.

Andytown Coffee Roasters

When Andytown Coffee Roasters expanded to downtown San Francisco, they needed a work that would bring the natural world into their sleek new Instagram headquarters location. I photographed the full length of an ancient California live oak that had been felled in a storm and created a 22-foot panorama, each panel infused with color samples from Andytown's original coffee bag tags. Medusa now rests among the concrete and glass of downtown San Francisco.

Andytown Coffee Roasters

Manzanita Wave was an installation at Andytown's Outer Sunset location, two blocks from the ocean. Manzanita branches descended from the exposed ceiling rafters to service level — originating at six feet and tapering to a twig — a crashing wave that ends in a whisper.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

For the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts — a host for humanity's creative past, present, and future — I created a floral sculpture drawing from traditions across time and culture. Twelve arrangements spanning English, American, and Japanese traditions, from living flowers and tree buds to preserved seed pods, united into one cohesive work.
